Temp to Perm Social Worker

A client located in Mount Vernon, NY has an immediate position available for a Social Worker.

Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university, and/or one year of experience in job development, job placement, employment counseling, or job seeking skill training and motivation; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to perform comfortably in fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Bilingual capabilities preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Maintains a caseload of project participants.
2.Conducts appropriate vocational assessments on project participants.
3.Tracks participants? attendance and participation in work/training activities.
4.Conducts career oriented counseling.
5.Develops on going relationships with the community.
6.Updates participant status promptly and coordinates actions with others.
7.Schedules appointments, reviews employment goals, and makes individual job matches.
8.Assists in raising participant self-confidence level.
9.Ensures all participants complete a master application, resume, and have practiced interviewing skills.
10.Ensures that participants follow through with job search and their goals.
11.Assists participants with resolving scheduling issues and planning job search activities.
12.Monitors and counsels participants in regards to the effectiveness of the individualized employment plan.
14.Ensures that a majority of participants reach their employment goals.
15.Maintains participant logs/notes updating all services provided for participant files.
16.Attends and participates in all required training programs and staff meetings.
17.Maintains contact with all employed participants and ensures job retention through problem solving and case management assistance.
18.Supports overall program goals.
19.Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.

Position pays $34,000 p/y.
