Traffic Assistant to Procurement & Logistics Dept.

Reputable Dallas Company Seeking a Traffic Assistant for the Procurement and Logistics Department!

 

This individual will be responsible for data entry; warranty replacement, demo and non-warranty return transactions; invoice reconciliation; freight claims and act as a carrier liaison.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 



 

1. Data Entry: ( 40% of time )



?  Record tracking number on shipment and bill freight on invoice.

?  Contact forwarders for tracking on international shipments and request copy of BOL for billing file.

?Record all non-billable freight expenses.

?Verify addresses to PO and to data entered on waybills.

?Verify waybills are completed correctly.

?Sort and distribute to the billing department.



 

2. Warranty Replacements: ( 30% of time )



?  Research and verify information on Internal Requests for replacement units.

?  Create warranty replacement orders and returns.

?  Create travelers for all warranty returns

?Sort and distribute to receiving and shipping

?  Dispatching shipments and returns with carriers.

?Produce daily logs for shipment sent from other locations.

?  Reconcile open warranty returns not processed by month end.



 

3. Invoices: ( 10% of time )



?  Verify invoices are approved by traffic manager.

? Scan and e-mail to Corporate approved invoices.

? File scanned and e-mailed invoices.

? Retrieve and reproduce approvals for Corporate.

? Reconcile balance due, past due and regular monthly statements.



 

4. Demo and Non-Warranty Returns: ( 5% of time )



?  Contact pick up location for shipping information

?Verify information provided by sales for returns.

?  Reconcile open returns not processed by month end.



 

5. Freight Claim Replacements and Returns: ( 5% of time )



?  Research and verify original shipment information.

?Create replacement and return orders.

?Create and track travelers for claims.



 

6. Carrier Liaison: ( 5% of time )



?  Act as the contact person for sales and carrier on re-consignment, refused and proof of deliveries

?Notify internal customers of issues with shipments.

 

 

This individual should have a background in shipping and/or logistics.

 

This position is offering compensation of $12-$15/hr, dependent upon experience.
