Web Designer

SUMMARY Reporting to the Director, Creative Services the web designer will contribute to the creative design of Entertainment.com including product, brand and marketing efforts.

The designer will create elegant, appealing, and extensible designs through user-centered design principles and will create a combination of pure graphic design and graphical user interface design. The designer will take projects from conception to completion and will produce mock-ups and multiple design solutions within given project timelines and deadlines. Throughout the design development process, she/he will work closely with product managers, front-end HTML developer and Delivery team to ensure style guidelines are met and foster collaboration and exploration within the product design team by initiating design and copy reviews. The web designer will help to set the standards for design development and serve as user advocate through out the product development cycles.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.Collaborate with the design team to create conceptual interactive projects while delivering innovative ideas for advertising / marketing solutions for specific clients and websites.

2.Maintains product architecture (flow and function), aesthetic appeal, general graphics, providing specifications for the development of database templates, interactive features and style guidelines.

3. Must have working knowledge on turning web design files over correctly to Front End Developer (HTML Coder)/Developer for programming.

4. Ability to work with Front End developer while coding is in progress to maintain integrity of design work.

5. Integrates web assets (e.g. graphics, text, content, function etc.) to ensure they are consistent with corporate branding, communications, products and services.

6. Develops and maintains online marketing efforts including promotional landing pages, emails, and ad units.

7. Assist in creating revenue opportunities for the company directly from the Entertainment.com website through creative graphic and product design.

8. Adapt to new trends in web design and technology, offering multiple solutions to design challenges.

9. Foster, promote and build a positive team environment.




QUALIFICATIONS

?BA/BS with an emphasis in Graphic Design or Fine Arts courseware or equivalent experience.
?2-3 years professional design experience with a minimum of 2 years of web interface design experience.
?Create graphical user interface designs for websites and email marketing.
?Excellent typographical and conceptual design skills.
?Comprehension of B2B and B2C markets.
?Excellent multi-tasking skills. Be able to work on a variety of projects at any given time and effectively prioritize tasks within project timelines and deadlines.
?Meet with Account Manager, project Manager and clients to understand needs and offer creative suggestions.
?Work across departments from the design team on creative brief to developers to test and deploy projects.
?High motivation self-directed with the ability set priorities and meet deadlines.
?Coordinate with project teams to ensure all client data collection and formatting requirements are met.
?High degree of passion about web design and technology, expressing interest and drive in learning new techniques and technologies.
?Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to interact well with other departments.
?Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work in teams, and be flexible within a fast paced and changing environment.
?Ability to grasp new technologies and skills quickly and efficiently.
?Thorough knowledge or Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready, and InDesign required.
?Comprehension of HTML / DHTML / XML coding.
