PURPOSE OF JOB
This position helps the Product Manager plan, develop, and implement product line marketing strategies to achieve sales forecasts. The Assistant Product Manager will develop a solid understanding of the competitive environment to include market share, product positioning, channel strategies, new products, product comparisons, market pricing, product promotions, and other related activities. This individual provides support by helping to manage projects and programs which create demand and maximize opportunities to satisfy customer needs that achieve the objectives of the business. The Assistant Product Manager will also be responsible for helping support the marketing efforts of existing products to maximize market penetration and effectively manage the product life cycle process. This position will require moderate supervision and will be responsible for the coordination and execution of the plans necessary to achieve the growth objectives. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Product Manager will work closely with the Medical and Industrial Product Managers to manage Microflex?s product lines and achieve our business goals. Responsibilities will be varied over time and are likely to include:
Analyzing data to provide conclusions and insights on Microflex products and competitive activity. Making sound business recommendations to leadership team based on these analyses.Taking leadership role in assigned projects, which may include development of selling and training materials or promotional materials, analyzing and publishing sales trends by product line and by market, resolution of business or technical issues that arise with products, etc. Owning the process to regularly profile, test, and catalogue competitive information to become the Microflex Medical and Industrial market industry expert on competitive intelligence.Conducting market research to evaluate and publish information on market share, market trends, and segment penetration opportunities by product and by SBU.Creating and updating volume/demand forecasts by product line
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:BA or BS degree in marketing, technical, clinical or scientific field required.
Experience: At least 0 - 2 years experience as a Product Manager Previous consumables marketing experience preferred.
Skills:PC proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Solid research and analysis skills.Self-starter who anticipates problems, spots opportunities and takes a proactive approach to responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to achieve results by working effectively as part of a team.High level of energy and passion for marketing.
