Account Director

U.S. Marketing & Promotions (USM&P) is the event marketing division of The Marketing Arm, the #1 ranked marketing agency in 2006 by Promo Magazine. The Marketing Arm is a network of experiential marketing services agencies -- USM&P, Millsport, Davie-Brown Entertainment and ipsh! ? create and execute highly successful promotions and events by leveraging our expertise in emotion platforms of entertainment, sports and music.

Our client, the largest telecommunications company in the U.S., has hired USM&P to develop and execute local events where we demonstrate, sell and book orders for their new TV service, which is touted as the Reinvention of TV. The new service will transform the communications industry and revolutionize the TV business.

Accountabilities:
*Provide overall strategic leadership on this program, working closely with the client's management to set goals, scope and budget.
*Acquire and direct agency talent and resources necessary to meet or exceed client's expectations, while ensuring that established policies are followed and the program's internal profitability targets are met.
*Direct the development and execution of direct marketing, promotions and incentives to help drive traffic to demonstration/selling venues.
*Identify and help develop opportunities to grow the agency's business with the client at their corporate and local levels.

Skills/Experience:
*6-8 years of progressive experience in event, promotions and/or sales management, with at least 4+ years experience managing a team and 2+ years as Account Director leading a multi-site/nationwide promotional/sales marketing program.
*Proven track record of successfully recruiting, hiring and retaining a team of managers; having a network of current or former employees you could immediately recruit into the program would be a big plus.
*Leadership role in a new product/service/campaign roll-out a plus.
*Must be curious about and comfortable with new technology.

*Experience in technology, telecom, high-speed Internet access or cable TV fields is a plus.
*Demonstrate persuasive and effective communication and negotiation skills that are concise and provoke action.


Education: Bachelors degree required; MBA a plus

Travel: 25-40% (toward the high end initially, to help establish local programs)
