Advertising Copywriter

A dynamic and rewarding position exists in our Marketing Department!  We are seeking a versatile Advertising Copywriter to join our busy in-house Corporate Marketing Team at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. Reporting directly to the Director of Advertising, the position will create and write compelling, benefit-driven copy for ads, flyers, coupons, posters, banners and Web.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain brand consistency while writing copy that drives traffic.
Accurately describe tax-related products and services.
Create multiple copy concepts and promotional strategies.
Maintain established creative standards.
Assist in proofreading and other department projects, as requested.
Present creative work and concepts to team.
Participate in group projects and brainstorming sessions.
Additional assignments as required.

 

Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Communications, English or Marketing and/or equivalent work experience.
At least three years of advertising copywriting experience preferably in a retail or promotional environment. (Must provide samples of previous work.)
Proven ability to write for retail/service company with clarity, consistency and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work on several different projects simultaneously, while meeting
tight deadlines.
Proven ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent writing, spelling and grammatical skills.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Quick, innovative thinker, ability to conceptualize several copy solutions for any given marketing strategy with very little lead time.
Must be motivated and flexible during peak workload.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
