Advertising Sales and Business Development Executive at Seattle Software Startup

Cozi (www.cozi.com) is an early stage software startup located in Pioneer Square. We are building a brand new advertising paradigm to reach consumers throughout their day in the contexts they ?live? in.

 

We are looking for a talented individual to join the executive team; this person will become the CEO's partner in driving the business forward. Initially, this individual will work primarily with the CEO; within 12 months, they will begin building out a repeatable sales process along with a sales team to execute that process.

 

Requirements for this position include the following:

 

? 10+ years of experience selling advertising

? 2+ years of experience selling new media advertising

? Experience architecting, closing, and implementing deals with Fortune 500 companies

? Experience building relationships at the SVP level within Fortune 500 companies.

? Exceptional critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills

? Strong written and spoken communication skills

 

In addition, the following experience is preferred; certainly not all are required though most of this experience should be there:

 

? working in a startup environment

? working in the consumer technology arena

? selling a v1 product

 

 

The perfect candidate for this job will be comfortable operating as both an individual contributor as well as in a team leadership position.

 

This is employee #15 at the company so there is considerable upside on the equity front.

As part of our hiring process, we?re interested in seeing a sample of something you?ve written. We?ve found that writing skill is often a reliable predictor of many factors such as general intelligence, analytic ability, empathy, and persuasiveness. Additionally, as an early employee at a growing company, it?s virtually certain that you?ll create many forms of documentation that will be relied upon by people both inside and outside the company.

 

This writing sample could be a product document, a white paper, a blog, or any other sort of non-confidential document you think represents your writing ability well. A recent sample will probably best reflect your current experience, but an older piece that still represents you well would also work fine. Optimal samples are about THREE pages long, though ultimately, the length is up to you.
