Advertising Traffic Assistant

Entry level position in our fast-paced in-house advertising depart.  Excellent administrative, communication and proofreading skills required. Print production and MAC background preferred. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The position reports to the Director of Advertising with direct supervision by Production Manager and is responsible for coordinating all advertising department traffic duties.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma, or equivalent, some college preferred.  Three (3) years experience in advertising/media preferred.  Excellent computer skills, as well as experience in Excel and word processing. Experience in coordinating print production.  Ability to work and make decisions independently. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Team member and leadership skills also required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Open and traffic all jobs through approval process

 

Proof ad materials with Production Manager

 

Fax for approvals; relay changes to appropriate art directors

 

Keep in contact with stores to make sure ad material is approved

 

Perform copywriting assignments when time allows.

 

Assist production manager with getting ads/ad material out the door

 

File completed jobs by zone- Maintain all zone files for ads and direct mail

 

Copy appropriate management personnel

 

Assist production manager with distribution of all ad and collateral materials to stores

 

Keep department meeting report and competitive binders updated.

 

Coordinate insertion of custom pricing into direct mail with Production Manager

 

Distribute all direct mail to appropriate zones and personnel internally and final file

 

Secure all bar codes and maintain coupon bar code file with IT

 

Work directly with IT to keep an updated list of POS stores

 

Maintain stationary supplies for stores

 

Assist Production Manager with collateral inventory

 

Coordinate all shipping to stores for department

 

Assist Department with tracking New Pool Owner coupons by store

 

Assist Department with securing county pool owners list

 

Keep inventory of all banners, posters and ad materials

 

Assist Departments with letters to customers who want to be removed from/added to our mailing list

 

Keep updated spreadsheet for Express Stores

 

Maintain product files

 

Any other duties, as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to sit and use hands to operate computers, calculator, and file papers.  The associate frequently is required to talk and hear in reference to interacting with other departments in the corporation, as well as outside vendors. The associate is required to sit and walk and also climb stairs.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
