Analytics and Metrics Manager

Geeks On Call is moving forward at breakneck speed and requires a top-notch individual to drive market-mix optimization metrics in a data-driven environment. This position is based at the Geeks On Call corporate headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia and will require out-of-state candidates to relocate to the Hampton Roads area.

 

Responsibilities:

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the design, development, and communication of business analytics that provide insight into Geeks On Call marketing and operations performance.  This includes tracking, analyzing, and reporting in support of marketing and operations to: Successfully manage the gathering of marketing, operational, and cost data to build ongoing, pertinent and actionable data-driven metrics.Build service-oriented relationships across the organization.Facilitate the flow of dialogue between the various corporate teams and analytics to ensure all needs are understood and met.Develop complex predictive analysis that drives strategic, data-driven decision making. Develop market-mix optimization and corporate metrics. Implement automated processes where possible to drive operational efficiency and allow the teams to focus on the analytical results versus the compilation of data.Optimize reporting and analytical architecture for Geeks On Call, ensuring consistent metrics definition and reporting across business units.Determine, maintain and proactively communicate analytic initiatives and roadmap.Write reports and present findings of analytical projects, including the development of white papers on analytical issues and the presentation of research findings to senior management and franchisees as needed.

 

Competencies: Strategic Planning and Vision:  Requires a strong strategic and creative vision with the ability to turn the vision into reality. Systems Knowledge: Although the IT group will be responsible for building the core operational processes and deploying technologies to capture the information, it is essential that this individual have in-depth knowledge of data warehouses, complex systems and applications. Database Experience:  Experience in designing processes and systems that accurately define metrics, measuring trends, and communicating implications to business owners.  Comfort with the Six Sigma Green Belt methodology of define, measure, analyze, improve, control that drives improvements and decision making. Collaboration: Ability to foster communication across the organization and use analytics to address relevant issues where appropriate.  Must be comfortable working in a matrixed organization which balances direct authority with reaching consensus; needs to be very effective listener.

 

Requirements:

? Bachelors degree in mathematics or statistics.  Advanced degree preferred.

? Five years of experience conducting advanced quantitative analyses to drive business decisions.

? High level of proficiency in Excel and in standard statistical application software (SPSS, SAS, Statistica, etc.)  SQL is a plus, as is MS Access.

? Significant experience working with large databases; ability to clean and manipulate complex datasets.

? Advanced formal training in statistical techniques.

? Ability to communicate to staff at all levels within the organization.

? Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

? Strong written and verbal communication skills.

? Critical thinking and strong analytical ability demonstrated by work experience.
