Job Description:
POSITION: Assistant Brand Manager

TEAM: Brand Marketing

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Brand Director, Senior Brand Manager or Brand Manager


POSITION PURPOSE
To support the overall brand strategy by: Assisting with the management of all or part of the new product development process ensuring that products are completed on schedule, meet licensor requirements, and meet performance, quality and cost criteria; researching, analyzing and making recommendations regarding current market trends and competitive activity to identify new product opportunities. May act as liaison with business partners.

Assists in the writing and execution of marketing plans, under direction of brand manager, including Advertising, Promotion, Packaging, Merchandising, and Public Relations.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Marketing services teams (Advertising, Market Research, Marketing Creative, Public Relations.)
Product Engineers, Print Buyers
Brand Management at Hasbro Corporate

External:
Licensor and/or business partners

Supervises:
No supervisory responsibilities.

JOB DUTIES

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:
Product and Brand Development
Assists with the management of all or part of the new product development process ensuring that products are completed on schedule, meet licensor requirements, and meet performance, quality and cost criteria.
Execute packaging strategies and monitor and report on implementation, track approvals.
Researches, analyzes and make recommendations regarding current market trends and competitive activity to identify new product opportunities.
May act as liaison with business partners.
Responsible for making recommendations for product strategy (preparing for line review presentations, product plans, pricing, positioning, market needs and forecasting)

Marketing Plan Development
Assists in the writing and execution of marketing plans, under direction of brand manager, including Advertising, Promotion, Packaging, Merchandising, and Public Relations.
May act as liaison with creative departments, media, advertising development, promotions, merchandising, trade show needs, etc.

Retailer/Sales/Trade Development
Partner with Sales Group on product presentations.

Financial Management
Provide data for brand manager regarding product profit & loss.
Control over costs/resources under their responsibility (product budget responsibility, not authority.)

Secondary Functions:
As assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training:
BA/BS or equivalent experience required, preferably with a concentration in Marketing or related coursework. MBA preferred.

Prior Related Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive marketing experience.
Experience launching marketing campaigns required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage one or more brand or key brand segment in all stages of its life cycle.
Ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Knowledge of classical marketing theories and practices required.
Knowledge of product development processes preferred.
Knowledge of the game or toy industry desirable.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Good organization and time management skills.
Good analytical skills.
Proficient with MS Office products.
