Associate Brand Manager - Innovation
Purpose
Drive company growth by successfully commercializing new product innovation. Informed by consumer insight Consistent with portfolio strategy Disciplined by strong analysis Integrated via cross-functional team leadership
Accountabilities
Project Management - Lead day-to-day execution of agreed upon innovation projects Lead, develop, coordinate, and manage cross functional team responsible for successfully informing, implementing and launching new products/projects Identify critical path for each project Establish detailed milestones to serve as direction for innovation success in commercialization Sell and inform key stakeholders throughout the development process (i.e. commercial teams and senior management), Motivate the cross functional team providing clear and enthusiastic direction Quickly resolve any and all issues that invariably arise along the way Merchandise the team's progress and successes along the way ensuring that each team member feels valued and important to CSAB's success Learn and leverage stage gate process (IPM), Innovation tools (BCC Winning Choices, Concept Screeners, Product Guidance, Pathfinder and additional resources (Nielsen, internal CSAB programs, multiple research methodologies, etc.) Coordinate and manage outside agencies appropriate to the project
Develop consumer expertise via sound insight development working closely with Consumer Understanding and Planning partner Understand and leverage tools and research methodologies Utilize Pathfinder, ALICE and BCC tools Identify and leverage consumer insights to drive innovation
Brand Innovation Support - serve as innovation resource to support non-product specific innovation activity (merchandising, on-premise offerings, consumer activity, etc) Learn positioning and strategies of the identified brand teams in order to add value through innovation Gain a thorough understanding of the consumer, customer, distribution and manufacturing systems in order to best provide value added innovation ideas and leadership
Pre-Requisites
4 year college degree - Business or marketing degree required, MBA preferred. 2+ year of consumer marketing experience, New product development and experience with a stage gate or other new product development process a plus Consumer packaged goods or beverage experience a plus. Strong analytical and computer skills (proficiency in all MS Office applications, Nielsen a plus) Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work in team environment as member as well as leader.
Key Performance Indicators: CSAB goals Achievement of personal goals (to be determined between Manager and Associate) Personal goals evaluated by Manager and influenced through 360 feedback
Key Relationships:Cross Function team management across finance, supply chain, S& T, marketing, sales and knowledge management (research) Senior Management to update, inform and gain buy-in and direction Sales-force to drive in-market sell-in and execution Brand team to seamlessly integrate the commercial components (launch, marketing, promotions, advertising, etc.)
Area of Responsibility: Lead identified innovation projects Support the brand teams in the development of identified innovation projects
