Associate Estimator

 

 

Summary:

The focus in this position is gain experience in file management, proper use of computer application/hardware used for estimating functions, as well as the basic fundamentals of the financials of a job. The work concentrates on job openings, the routing process of the estimate, making relationships with teams and getting acquainted with the work flow process.

 

The position is mentored by a selected Senior Estimator with the initial training being done by the Manager of estimating. This position will typically start out with a few clients and build on upon once the individual gains experience.

 

 

Computer Skills Required:

Basic knowledge of Excel with a willingness to learn new technologies

 

 

Task Management Requirements:Ability to prioritize and manage workflow and manage conflicting prioritiesOpen jobs in a timely fashionAttend all Job Start Meetings for their clientsManages the progress of routing estimatesPrepares completed estimates quickly, efficiently, meeting timing requirementsPosts approved estimatesTracks and manages the progress of all open jobs for their clients on weekly basisContacts Account Staff with Cost to Dates and Emails on progress of all open jobsAttends and participates in all weekly Work in Process Meetings with Accounting Department

 

 

Other Experience:

The person most suitable for this position will have a strong desire to work as part of a team. They will be enthusiastic and have the ability to work with many personality types. A creative background is a plus in this position as it enables the internal process of our business to be much easier to visualize.
