General Summary
New Business Development is charged with the development of the 3-year strategic business plans and the new product pipeline by (1) identifying strategic insights to guide businesses to better address consumer, customer, competitive and company needs, and (2) identifying, validating and commercializing new products for businesses to address opportunities.
This business group was established to serve as a partner / internal consultant to the established businesses to provide the time and attention on synthesizing consumer and business insights to provide a dispassionate business perspective and the resources for the ?heavy lifting? to delve into the data and business information / consumer insights. Importantly, the group is also charged with new product / platform development (+1 year out) which will comprise a significant portion of the business' long-term growth.
Principal Accountabilities
Work very closely with the VP/Dir., as well as the Brand Managers on the respective businesses to gain input and alignment to ideas and opportunities across the value chain from consumer insight/positioning, to pricing and new products/packaging.
Serve as an internal consultant to help understand business drivers, synthesize and develop insights leveraging various types of custom and syndicated research, and identify business-building opportunities.
Responsible for the identification, development and execution of the new product and packaging platforms and pipeline across core businesses and Strategic Growth Opportunity Areas.

Identify core consumer and means of reaching them
Identify and institutionalize a new product and packaging development process across business' look like with expected outputs by stage, stage gate approvals, hurdles across stages and how does this differ by project time and business. Ensure it fits within or integrate with a Corporate product development process.
Education & Experience
Minimum education required: MBA
Preferred education: MBA
Minimum Experience: 4+ years
Qualifications
Foundation in classic brand marketing at a consumer packaged goods company with a history of new product/packaging innovation, and experience in strategic planning or management consulting are desired.
Strong analytical and problem solving capacity
Adept at consumer brand discovery, segmentation, brand strategy and brand positioning
Significant experience developing new products and platforms
Creative thinker with the ability to drive innovation ? close in and further out
Prudent risk taker ? willing to assume business risk yet with clear understanding of how to mitigate risks
Communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure that business plans and clearly understood and that the vision, values and philosophy are maintained
Demonstrate business savvy and personal maturity; exude confidence yet display personal humility
Ability to interface, influence and partner with cross-divisional and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels to rally support behind initiatives and goals
Ability to create direction for the business and the team
