General Job Summary
The Business Project Manager?s primary role is to manage medium and large scale projects from conception to production hand-off and work in conjunction with the IT Project Manager during the production process to ensure successful implementation. This team member will work closely with key stakeholders and various team members to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities
Ultimately accountable for the planning and timely execution of medium to large scale projects, as assigned.
Manage requirements, scope, schedule and cost throughout the life of a project including change management and risk mitigation. Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, priority, expectations, business requirements, tasks, dependencies, resources, effort, duration, etc. Identify, refine and recommend a suitable project approach plan that will allow the team to efficiently meet our business goals while maintaining product quality. Coordinate efforts across all departments to secure necessary resources and oversee the activities of the project to ensure project deliverables meet business expectations.
Create and manage project management artifacts such as project plans, risk mitigation plans and business requirements.Contribute to the standardization and streamlining of project management documentation and standards.Accountable for deliverables and overall quality and consistency of work product.
Maintain clear communication with all team members and key stakeholders throughout the life of the project.Exhibit strong project management skills, follow-up on action items, prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, action items, document business decisions, and communicate next steps.Report the project status, accomplishments, and issues on a regular basis.
Indirectly manage resources assigned to a project.Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and produce quality work in a fast-paced environment. Encourage and support project team members.Promote and manage teamwork across multiple functional teams.
Required Skills, Attributes & Education
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience.A minimum of 2-3 years of project management experience on large-scale web site projects for an established, heavily trafficked, consumer facing web site.Strong ability to develop and manage project timeline, resources, and budgetary requirements for various size projects.Ability to gather requirements and input from multiple sources, define business objectives, translate objectives into discrete projects, build consensus, obtain buy-in and facilitate change.Proficiency with a range of appropriate software tools.
Preferred Skills
Professional experience collaborating in a team environment on large-scale web site projects.Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientation.Exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.Comfortable communicating with, presenting to and taking input from a variety of people, including senior management.Detail oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Desire and ability to thrive in fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment. Online automotive industry experience a plus.
