Nerac announces an exciting full-time opportunity for a Business and Marketing Editor.

 

Mission of Editor

To improve business and marketing communication content and throughput, specifically in the areas of:

?  Marketing content creation and branding efforts that will establish Nerac Analysts as authoritative experts within key industry targets.  These objectives are critical to Nerac?s directives of building brand awareness and credibility.

?  Business proposal quality and throughput ? primarily for consulting project proposals, statements of work, terms and conditions.  Secondarily for ad hoc partnership proposals or other sundry business writing efforts.

 

Responsibilities 

This position serves to aid and impact several groups within Nerac by increasing the general quality and quantity of business and marketing writing.  These groups include:

 

Within Sales:

?  Service as point person for client proposal authoring, which involves integrating pricing, statement of work, terms and conditions, and delivery schedule content into an effective business proposal appropriate for executive decisions at our clients.

?  Maintain brand consistency, high quality standards, and delivery schedules that positively affect Nerac revenue.

?  Manage workload so that business proposals receive highest priority among many diverse responsibilities.

 

Within Marketing:

?  Develop a complete tactical, content strategy for each targeted industry that includes an editorial schedule for trade publications, Nerac.com, the newsletter(s) and blog(s)

?  Ensure web, newsletter and blog content is newsworthy, published on time and aligns with branding initiatives

?  Maintain a calendar database of key publications of interest

?  Help identify Analysts for speaking engagements and events

?  Polish and prep articles for publication

?  Help identify content placement opportunities at industry events and publications.

?  Meet deadlines, manage the editorial schedule and troubleshoot to avoid potential missed deadlines

 

With the Nerac Analysts:

?  Build momentum and recruit Analysts for writing assignments and speaking engagements

?  Stir ideas/debate/controversy within the Nerac Analysts that results in publishable content.

?  Build a team of go-to Analysts who will keep Marketing on top of industry developments and potential newsworthy happenings that can be capitalized on

?  Interview Analysts and outside experts (as needed) for hot topic content (to be used on Nerac.com, blogs, news worthy submissions to trades)

?  Develop outlines, with the Analysts, and edit articles, papers and presentations

?  Conduct basic research on a topic or pull in the correct Analyst to help

 

Requirements

?  Bachelors Degree

?  Minimum of 5 years experience as a writer and/or editor

?  Written and oral communication skills that signify intelligence, intrigue and energy

?  Dynamic attitude and fearless approach to working with people

?  Recent samples of writing within the business context, especially business proposals for deals greater than $50,000, that reflect superior understanding of sales decisions among clients

?  Technical or scientific writing background, or at least a strong, general understanding and interest in technology and science

?  Familiarity of developing content marketing

?  Excellent project management skills

?  Superior attention to detail

?  Computer skills: All Microsoft office, especially proficient in Excel and Word; familiarity with blogging software and online tools (RSS, etc.)

?  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

 

Preferred

?  PR experience, marketing expertise or event management

?  Connections with scientific and/or technical industry trades and organizations

?  Active in social computing, understanding of relevant trends in blogs and similar paradigms
