Communications Coordinator (Executive Briefing Center)

Objective: This individual will develop and direct communications programs to enhance internal communication and build community for SAP Labs US. His/her efforts will complement and reinforce SAP's global communications platform, while maximizing the resources of this dynamic and growing region. The individual will craft messages that communicate the value proposition of SAP Labs to its employees and the rest of SAP. This communications role will not only enhance the company's image, but also reinforce the company's presence and position within Silicon Valley--help position us as the technology employer of choice. Through close surveillance of internal audiences in Labs US, our competitors and the industry at large, the Manager of Communications will identify and leverage internal and external opportunities to ensure the Labs Value Proposition is better understood and differentiated from the competition. Work directly with Labs VP Communications, Labs Managing Director, Communications staff and other members of the Labs Leadership Forum to develop and execute the SAP Labs communications function.

Position Responsibilities:

- Create strategic communications plans aimed at key internal and external audiences; take the lead in managing the community-building effort for the SAP Labs employee audience with specific attention to all-hands meetings, employee research and feedback, email communications, new media and publications.
- Oversee the creation and publication of SAP Labs employee newsletter, the Silver Bullet. This responsibility includes creating story ideas, managing writers, photographers and graphic designers, editing final copy and overseeing final online production and distribution (currently produce 6 issues per year).
- Oversee the development and management of Labs Portal to ensure it becomes a highly valued resource for Lab US employees
- Develop and manage a new media platform to help Labs US community share information, collaborate and build stronger community (blogs, wikis, etc...)
- Manage executive communications, including presentations (PowerPoint and multi-media), internal and external speeches, talking points, Q&A's, that reach a variety of audiences (customers, employees, government officials, community leaders), across a variety of channels (face to face, electronic or print);
- Collaborate with other internal communications peers in NSQ, WDF and the Network of Labs across the world to share information and best practices.
- Collaborate with VP Communications (Labs US), Global Communications teams and other members of the SAP Labs senior management team on the annual communications plan for the North America region; support the Executive Thought Leadership Program
- Monitor industry news about SAP and competitors; identify relevant and emerging issues;

Basic Qualifications:

Requires 7 +years of communications' experience, corporate or agency, in the technology industry.

Travel Requirements:

~20%
