Community Relations Manager

CEMEX is a growing global building solutions company with operations in more than 50 countries and is the largest producer of cement and ready-mix concrete in the United States, as well as one of the largest manufacturers of cement in the world.

CEMEX in the United States is headquartered in Houston, TX, and is seeking a Community Relations manager.? This position will be overseeing the community relations plan development and implementation at the national and local levels.? It will be responsible for establishing relationships with local organizations and community leaders to enhance the CEMEX image in the communities in which we do business. This position reports to the Vice President of Communications and Community Relations.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Participating as a key player in implementing CEMEX?s Community Relations through reviewing and updating current plans, and developing and recommending any new plans for each of the areas in which we do business.
Conducting research to support community relations and communication programs.
Creating and fostering relationships with community leaders and non-profit organizations.
Working closely with all operations? facilities and plants within our system.
Facilitating and supporting various events and special projects.
Maintaining and updating CEMEX U.S. website?s calendar of activities.
Assisting with the development of a wide variety of corporate communication materials.

Position Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in International Business, Communications, Public Relations, Governmental Affairs, or International Relations.
A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in event planning, public relations, and communications, as well as, either corporate, public or non-profit experience.
Experience in dealing with community organizations and non profit organizations.
Excellent writing abilities.
Expertise in web usage.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently, but also cooperatively in a team context.
Must be available to travel 60% of the time.
