Copywriter/Copy Manager

The Hamilton Collection, part of The Bradford Group, is an established marketer of a wide array of collectibles and the largest direct marketer of figurines. We are currently looking for a Copywriter/Copy Manager to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida!

What does the Copywriter/Copy Manager do?

The Copywriter/Copy Manager will work within The Hamilton Collection corporate brand identity and style to produce concise and effective sales copy for products marketed through direct mail and new client channels. You will write, proofread, and edit copy for brochures and other forms of documents using Quark Xpress. This requires you to detail particulars of the product and strive to achieve emotional resonance. You will also work closely with members of the Marketing, Product Development and Creative teams to convey the features and benefits of a particular product, and also demonstrates initiative and ability to perform additional product research through online or other informational outlets.

In addition, you will review all direct mail components and NCA (new client acquisition) ads for content, emotional resonance, grammar, sales tone and sales strategy to ensure the most effective direct mail package or NCA ad. Additional responsibilities will include working with copywriters to continually improve our marketing strategies based on past testing and past successes, assigning programs based on workload, and proofing all components during the routing process to ensure all collaterals are error-free.

What we are looking for in you:Bachelor?s degree in English or Journalism or Marketing 6 or more years experience in writing retail catalog copy, direct mail, or similar writing capacities 2-3 years supervisor/management experience Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills Excellent verbal communication and team skills Strong attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Macintosh computers, and OS X Knowledge of Quark or other desktop publishing software Excellent command of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and syntax Ability to work constructively in a creative team environment where brainstorming and collaboration are standard procedure.
