Investment Bank Communications (Americas) is part of UBS's Corporate Communications Management operation and is integrated into the functional, Group-wide organization.

Functions

1.Media Relations is the first point of contact for all media enquiries and is responsible for relationship management with both local media and local correspondents of foreign media. The primary goals of media communications are as follows:
- To promote UBS's profile and strategy in investment banking in the Americas.
- To build confidence in the company and its management through honest, consistent and timely communication.
- To highlight UBS's capabilities, expertise and services, and to position UBS as a recognized financial services provider that meets the needs of the most discerning clients in various segments of the IB market.
- To further advance the development and expansion of the brand in the Americas.

Duties specific to the function
- Establish relationships and ongoing dialogue with the US IB business heads (Equities, Fixed Income, M&A, IBD).
- Develop media plans for key areas and key managers in those business areas.
- Identify and anticipate market trends that impact UBS' IB positioning on a proactive and reactive basis.
- Manage and identify reputational risk issues and develop a communication strategy.
- Coordinate efforts with peers in the Communications network around the globe.
- Develop strong relationship with the key position holders in the media.
- Manage and develop team members and in order to help them advance their careers within UBS and promote a culture of professional development.
- Maintain strong knowledge about the financial markets and its key players.
- Coordinate with other business unit heads (WM/AM) to ensure consistency of message.
- Manage UBS group issues as directed by Chief Communications Officer of the Americas.

At the local level, the Head of IB Communications reports to the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Communications in the Americas.
