POSITION SUMMARY:

The Programmer/Data Processing Specialist is responsible for producing personalized direct mail files for our customers.  This is a production programming position which requires a high level of attention to detail and quality control.  We need someone who can take raw data files and standardize them into a common format, can cleanse information, household (merge/purge) and provide output in a variety of formats.

 

1. Experience with Address Standardization, Merge/Purge software and a variety of software tools and applications

2. Familiarity with 3rd Party Postal Products such as DataFlux, Group 1, and First Logic

3. Assist in the analysis of client data

4. Constant reviews of process to increase efficiency

5. Receiving, reading, and verifying external files from clients or third party vendors

6. Converting files in the system utilizing multiple data applications, including a strong reliance on SAS and DataFlux

7. Verifying converted files to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the information; and producing final mail files
 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

 



EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree in information science or quantitative field

 

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years experience in data processing and or programming

 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

One or more of: SQL Server, SAS, DataFlux, Group 1, or First Logic

 

 

 

SOFT SKILLS:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, comfort working in a team environment, and ability to multi-task

 

 

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication skills
