Aquent has an exciting opportunity within our database marketing services group available for a Data Warehouse/BI architect with technical design experience using Informatica, Oracle, and leading commercial off-the-shelf BI and campaign management environments. Our client designs, constructs, hosts, and operates marketing databases for major US corporations under long term ASP arrangements. Our client's database marketing solutions are typically composed of an Oracle data warehouse and a data mart, batch and on-line ETL processes, data cleansing processes including USPS certified processes, and third party BI and Campaign Management tools.
The candidate in this position will work in a technical leadership role, responsible for the design and specification of data warehouse and data mart schemas, associated ETL and data hygiene processes, and implementation of BI and campaign management components to support direct marketing activities of major US corporations.
The Architect is responsible for developing the overall data architecture strategy for our hosted, database marketing solutions, leading the design and implementation of scaleable, robust solutions incorporating ETL, data hygiene, and BI and campaign management applications. As the Architect, the individual must understand the business needs as well as the technology that will be required to meet those needs, with a focus on enterprise-wide data sharing, distribution and integrity issues. Familiarity with emerging database trends and direct marketing business practices is a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in and contribute to business analysis and requirements definition.
- Assist in the assessment and analysis of data quality
- Provide recommendations for data cleansing standards and processes
- Design, development and quality assurance of data models associated with data warehouses, data marts and BI and campaign management applications.
- Design and specification of ETL and other data movement/manipulation processes.
- Performance tuning of database related processes
- Quality assurance of development work primarily
- Mentoring of junior staff
MUST HAVE:
- Requirements development, documentation, and tracking
- Entity relationship database modeling and design
- Dimensional database modeling and design (i.e. Kimball methods/techniques)
- Data warehouse design
- Data modeling tools, especially CA All Fusion (formerly ERwin)
- Design and construction of extract transformation and load (ETL) processes for very large databases
- ETL tools, especially Informatica,
- Oracle and/or other major RDBMS
- Managed query tools, especially Hyperion Insight
- Good written and oral communication skills necessary to present, explain and sell concepts to colleagues, management and Clients
- Work independently under general supervision
- Desire to learn the concepts and practices, acquire the skills, and develop the expertise needed to excel in this position
Other Desired Experience
- Campaign Management applications, especially Epiphany
- Relational and multidimensional On Line Analytical Processing (ROLAP and MOLAP) engines
- USPS Address hygiene processes utilizing tools such as Group 1, Trillium, First Logic
- Name and address matching (merge/purge) processes tools such as SSA, Group 1, Trillium, First Logic
- Data profiling with tools such as Trillium and Informatica
- Predictive analytic processes involving statistical analysis using tools such as SAS and SPSS.
- Unix, Korn shell scripts, and Crontab
