Database Developer/Administrator
The Hacker Group, one of the largest direct marketing agencies on the west coast and a subsidiary of FCB Worldwide, has an opening for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA). This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage marketing database projects for some of the biggest and best brands in the market!
You must have extensive experience managing database projects from start to finish.
As a direct marketing DBA ? you will manage and develop multi-channel integrated direct marketing databases for some of the best-known clients in the world. This position will be assigned key database enhancements and projects and will be responsible for performing all data functions needed to analyze, design, recommend and code very complex changes to the marketing database. You will be part of a team that determines the proper database architecture and processes for our clients, and then executes flawlessly against that plan, on-time and within budget. In addition, you'll:
? Work as part of a project team to coordinate database design, development and management.
? Develop, enhance and maintain existing Production and Development databases.
? Perform SQL database builds, modifications, maintenance and problem solving.
? Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes
? Audit, test, troubleshoot and correct errors, changes to databases.
? Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, integrity and data disaster recovery of company databases.
? Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
? Evaluate, recommends testing and evaluation of procedures, processes.
? Perform other duties as assigned by IT Director.
Required Qualfiications:
? SQL Server Database Administration in a corporate or agency environment.
? Understanding and experience with logical and physical database designs.
? Ability to design, develop and modify data models.
? Configuration, management, and maintenance of complex relational databases.
? Ability to create complex queries, DTS packages and stored procedures.
? Ability to operate autonomously with general supervision.
Education, Technical Knowledge, and Skills:
? College Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
? In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL structures, tables, schemas, and SQL Server 2000/2005.
? Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL server, including: Transact-SQL, Security, logging, indexes, views, queries, triggers, transactions, and performance tuning.
?Ability to write and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, DTS packages.
? Experience with data quality, data integrity, quality control and data validation processes.
? The ability to assess current database systems and clearly communicate tactical and strategic options and recommendations.
? Data mart/Data warehouse, business intelligence, SQL Reporting Services, Visual FoxPro experience.

? Project management skills in a fast paced environment where managing multiple dynamic priorities is an essential skill.
? Must have good business skills, including familiarity with regulatory compliance, writing policies and procedures, and process improvement.
? Must have excellent verbal and written, English communication skills.
? Previous direct marketing/direct mail experience is highly desirable on either the agency or client side.
