Database/ Relationship Marketing Manager

The Relationship Marketing/ Lead Generation Manager is responsible for strategizing, planning and executing lead generation and client relationship marketing efforts and manages the marketing database. The ideal candidate is a high energy self-starter who manages a variety of touch points including the Internet and creates effective, efficient communication tools to drive the purchase process and build long term relationships with clients. The manager is responsible for creating a lead generation/ incubation / lead qualification plan; working with sales to distribute leads and get feedback on lead quality; creating a measurement process and metrics, and analyzing and reporting campaign results to executive management and campaign stakeholders. He or she holds accountability for lead results, high response rates, and good return on investment. This person will leverage segmentation strategies, research and database analytics to develop programs that optimize client revenue and contribution.

 

The manager will be responsible for building and maintaining an integrated database marketing system for prospect/client acquisition, cross-sell and thought leadership programs, and will play a critical business role as the owner of marketing data. He or she will develop unified campaign messaging across various platforms including direct marketing campaigns, event-triggered lead generation programs, and client communications. The manager will develop and execute integrated programs across products, internet, events, public relations, partners and trade shows and will manage all program level information (including financials).

 

The manager will be responsible for the work methods, system performance, and quality of database outputs to drive enhancement of database content, functionality of database marketing tools, targeting techniques and reporting. Scope will encompass program design, program segmentation, testing and preparation of analyses of all programs including pro-formas, P&L, break-even analysis, and best case/worst case forecasting. The position requires that the manager:

 Plan and implement all planning, strategy, tactics, budgets and tracking for online and direct marketing programs. Develop and implement lead generation and cross sell programs.Must have expertise in 3rd party e-newsletters, advertorials, advertisements, search engine marketing (SEM) including contextual search, and permission-based email development.Must have expertise in campaign management and ROI optimization without the aid of an external agency. Must be able to track campaign success and perform reporting. Candidate must remain up to date on rapidly evolving direct/online marketing vehicles and tactics including SEO and make recommendations to senior management on new marketing opportunities.Create and execute integrated plans to support segment and program objectives and strategies. Review marketing communications and ensure that messages and overall effort are on strategy.  Conduct customer analysis to support marketing initiatives of prospecting for new customers and motivating existing customers to buy more through deep understanding of customer needs based database insights, high value segmentation analysis and targeting models. Lead the development and implementation of database management analytics to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing programs, tactics and strategies.

Establish and manage budgets for programs for each market segment or initiative and oversee project level budgets to deliver enhanced program strategies, tactics and ROI. 

 



EDUCATION

 

? Bachelor?s Degree required; MBA preferred

 

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

 

? Requires 7-10 years experience in both traditional and interactive business-to-business direct marketing and database management, with 3-4 years managerial experience

? Ability to translate data into actionable outputs

? Experience and expertise in enterprise software marketing, business services or solution selling is required; document and/or content management software knowledge is particularly desirable

? Strong, hands-on expertise implementing integrated marketing plans, database management, direct marketing programs and campaign execution is required

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

 

? Knowledge of database management methodologies, SQL, SFA systems, CRM systems and online database management

? Proficiency in quantitative database analytics, e.g. datasets and statistical models

? Proficiency in database warehousing and integration techniques 

? Knowledge and expertise in document management applications, content management applications and records management digital solutions is highly desirable

? Knowledge of business process outsourcing (document managed services is particularly desirable)

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

 

? Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

? Proficiency in email marketing tools and systems

? Knowledge of databases (i.e., SQL, Oracle)

? Knowledge of SFA systems (e.g. Salesforce.com)

? Knowledge of Web authoring tools helpful, (e.g. Blue Martini)

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

? Exceptional interpersonal skills required

? Must have excellent time management skills

? Strong analytical and financial skills

? Must have excellent writing and presentation skills

? Demonstrated propensity for initiative, flexibility and follow through; a strong team approach
