Job Description:


ADC is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to join the Marketing department to develop and maintain the project assignment, tracking, and approval infrastructure for Global Design projects in all communication media.  The Design Project Manager is the principle contact for Marcom clients to initiate and track the status of design projects for web, presentation, print and display work and serves as a resource in the establishment and reporting of priority-based timetables and project parameters.


 



Responsibilities will include:


Establishing projected and negotiated timelines for projects based on working knowledge of design and production requirements that will be output to a variety of media.


 


Providing infrastructure required to gather and organize client project content and requirement information as department projects are initiated.


 


Assisting Manager of Global Design in assigning projects to designers in keeping with designer responsibilities and current workload. 




Interfacing with internal customers to understand, counsel, and direct incoming design projects, including assisting in defining priorities and establishing timelines for each project and ensuring coordination with allied design efforts in other media.


 


Managing the ADAM database system including providing the content for the system, and assuring the timeliness and accuracy of of the database.

Qualified applicants will possess the following:


o Experience in creative or production department of an Advertising Agency, Design Firm, or in-house corporate design or communications department. (4-6 years) Typically the skill set and experience required for a “Traffic Manager” position at an Advertising Agency best represents the requirements of this position.


 


o Experience should include project management of design projects in all media; primarily print and display, but including creation of electronic graphics, and animations in a dynamic environment.


 


o Demonstrated project management software knowledge and experience. Familiarity with image database and project management software such as Cumulus, Version Cue, PHP Collab, etc. Equivalent experience managing timetables in spreadsheet or other database formats is acceptable. Previous experience in an advertising, design or service bureau’s traffic or customer service department highly preferred.


 


o Firm knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and similar tools are required. General knowledge of design and production software helpful: Global Design has standardized it’s software tools around the Adobe Creative Suite:  Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, and InDesign CS2. Additionally, Quark Express and Adobe Acrobat are frequently employed.


 


o Superior task management and organizational skills required.


 


o Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced marketing environment. Able to direct and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines.


 


o Ability to exhibit strong customer service approach. Diplomacy, patience and tact in dealing with client demands is a high priority in defining the incumbent’s work style.


 


o Must be able to help the Manager, Global Design to interpret campaign and marketing initiatives from Marcom clients, as well as re-purposing design created in other media. Ability to brainstorm with team members in a creative and collaborative work environment is particularly preferred.


 


o Highly effective written and verbal communication required.


 


o Working knowledge of brand management and marketing concepts. Ability to coordinate effort with other Marketing communications professionals for ADC initiatives and campaigns.
