Direct Mareketing - Account Director

Account Director:   The Account Director is responsible for overall agency service and activities on one or more pieces of business. This position deals primarily with senior management clients and takes a senior lead within the agency for coordinating, managing and leading agency resources to meet the direct marketing communication needs of accounts under his/her direction.  This position reports to the President of the agency.

 
Function as primary connection between senior clients and agency with regard to strategic, service-related, legal and policy issues
Provide strategic leadership to both clients and agency and help to identify growth opportunities and action plans for client’s marketing communications goals
Supervise Management Supervisors by providing leadership, training and growth opportunities to assigned account staff through actions and ongoing role-model interactions
Manage financial forecasting/tracking and reporting of potential projected income variances to Senior Management
Have complete command of client business issues to which they are assigned and provide key intelligence on business direction and agency role
Interact with all agency department heads to clearly outline current and projected workload on a quarterly basis for planning purposes
Senior lead when coordinating disciplines other than direct response in support of client goals
Play a key strategic role in new business efforts, when needed
Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of agency work are of superior quality 

 

Requirements For This Position:

 
10+ years direct marketing experience in print, direct mail, and interactive
Willing to travel and have traveled in the past
Loyalty program experience
Retention and acquisition background
Agency account management experience
New business development, sales and negotiation skills
Strong analytical skills
High level of professionalism, integrity and judgment
Successful track record of leading and growing ROI driven accounts and/or organizations
