Direct Marketing Writer (e-mail/web)
The direct marketing writer will work within the Brand Communications department as a strategic partner responsible for creative production and brand stewardship of all direct marketing materials for Capella University, with a focus on e-mail and web marketing communications.
The direct marketing writer will work in support of three key business objectives: acquisition of new learners, success of existing learners, and credibility of the Capella University brand. The right candidate will be a creative and strategic individual with a deep portfolio of direct marketing experience across a variety of communication mediums including: email, direct mail, and the web . Knowledge of AP style and experience in brand stewardship is required.
Responsibilities:
? Support business teams that drive inquiries for a broad portfolio of bachelor?s, master?s, and doctoral degree specializations in the Schools of Business, Education, Human Services, Psychology, and Information Technology.
? Work with interdisciplinary teams to create and/or edit targeted, direct response
communications for a variety of audiences.
? Edit and approve copy for promotional marketing materials.
Qualifications:
? Education: Bachelor?s degree in English, journalism, or communications is required
? Experience: 5+ years of editing and writing highly-branded, direct response promotional marketing materials including print, e-mail and d-mail, and Web (strong emphasis in e-mail and web materials preferred)
? Experience in educational and/or highly regulated industries is desired
? Ability to nuance communications for a variety of audiences
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
? Ability to work in a collaborative environment, contribute creative solutions, and lead interdisciplinary meetings
? Excellence in proof reading and knowledge of editorial notation
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Strong organizational skills
