Director, Advertising

Job Description: The Director of Advertising is responsible for planning the advertising communication to meet business objectives. Oversees development of creative briefs, partners on the development of strategic Integrated Communication Plans, and ensures that creative teams have the direction they need to develop the most remarkable and effective advertising possible. Delivers work on strategy, on time, and on budget. Scope of work includes leading projects developed through the intern creative team which consists of: traditional and new media as well as day-to-day interaction with external agencies on the development of national television, print creative and online creative. Provide performance management for staff through selection/recruiting, coaching, providing feedback, setting and measuring performance goals, developmental opportunities. Will set departmental direction in developing advertising strategy for marketing partners. The Director will provide strategic guidance to marketing partners though target definition, positioning, communications, messaging, and budget recommendations. Will direct outside advertising agencies ensuring that they have clear and definitive direction to achieve advertising as well as Disney Destinations Marketing goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum ten years managing advertising at a strategic advertising agency. MBA a plus

Strong advertising strategy development experience.

Agency account experience which includes both packaged goods and consumer services and new product introductions.

Proven experience integrating with other marketing communication tools (includes: direct marketing, web, publicity, and promotions).

Proven communication skills including the ability to build a case and effectively communicate a strategic point of view through verbal and written plans and presentations

Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects and to delegate responsibilities and motivate a team to successful completion

Strong conceptual skills being able to clearly understand the ?big picture,? as well as the steps it takes to get there

Proven strong strategic and creative judgment.

Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels, internally and externally
