Director, Internet Marketing
New York Life, a major life insurance company and a leader in the financial services industry, has an opportunity for a Director, Internet Marketing in the Marketing Department located at our Tampa Operation. A Company with one hundred and sixty years of experience will back you!
This hands-on position will serve as the focal point for Internet strategy and all on-line activity for the Life Insurance Program and will work with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders to accomplish objectives.
Will develop and execute strategies for the Internet channel that maximize the effectiveness of this channel to generate prospects and sales as well as serve existing customers who choose to do business on-line. Evaluate the current on-line program with respect to prospecting, response capture, sales, and customer service options to identify strengths and opportunities. Using disciplined direct marketing techniques, develop plans to test new on-line approaches that will increase response capture, sales and usage by existing customers. Working with internal departments and external vendors, develop new copy and graphics, website navigation, offers and on-line sales tools, new on-line media, and newer technologies such as e-signatures that will make the Internet channel more effective and grow on-line sales. Evaluate existing tracking and reporting for on-line activities. Identify key metrics and implement enhancements that will ensure that all key metrics are tracked and reported.
In addition to responsibility for the Internet channel, this position will take on additional responsibilities as assigned and provide strategic direction, plan development and implementation support for new marketing opportunities outside the Internet channel. One example will be to work with our Member Services Department to develop a process for cross-selling policy riders to existing customers via the telephone in our contact center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Corporate VP, Market Development to develop and execute strategies and media plans for the Internet channel in the test and rollout stages. Some of the tasks supported by this position include:
Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan for the Internet channel including the development of objectives, budgets, and sales targets.Provide strategic input for developing new creative for the Internet channel. Oversee the implementation of new creative on the website.Develop a navigation strategy for the website and develop a site map that serves as the basic plan for New York Life?s on-line presence.Plan and execute tests designed to capture responses and generate sales for the Internet channel such as banner advertising, key word tests on search engines, links to other websites and email.Evaluate existing internal and external Internet resources. Determine any additional resources required to meet objectives for the Internet channel.Manage the tactical execution of the on-line campaigns including source code set-up, data and workflow development, fulfillment, call center training, and reporting.Monitor campaign performance while campaigns are active. Identify and resolve issues as necessary.Work with customer service to ensure that the customer service functions on the website are well integrated with marketing functions. Support the achievement of customer service goals and objectives on-line. Stay informed on Internet strategies and developments in the NYL Corporate Internet Department.Provide ongoing status of campaigns to Corporate VP.Evaluate campaign results. Develop test, retest, and rollout recommendations.Mange sales forecasting for Internet channelTrack Internet expenses and process invoices.Participate in the identification and evaluation of new on-line opportunities. Assist with the development of presentation materials for senior management and client.
What it takes to Succeed:5-7+ years of experience developing and implementing successful strategies for on-line sales and customer service. Must have experience managing a website where the primary objective was lead generation and sales.Exceptional attention to detail. Must operate with a great sense of urgency and consistently meet deadlines.Must be able to manage multiple priorities and be highly productive.Must have extensive experience with website design and navigation strategies.Must have experience with on-line advertising vehicles such as banner ads, key word search engine advertising, and links with other sites.Must have experience integrating the on-line experience with off-line advertising and call center support.Must have a clear understanding of the key metrics used to evaluate on-line performance as well as experience with reporting tools and evaluation techniques.Must be flexible with daily routine. Should be able to recognize opportunities and help resolve problems in all aspects of the channel from strategy and planning to operational and tactical issues.Must be able to evaluate and respond to new information quickly and appropriately.Experience working with outside creative and media agencies.Must have excellent communication skills. Must successfully and proactively keep diverse groups including systems, operations, and management well informed of channel status. Must be able to explain channel strategy to each group in relevant terms.Must have excellent analytical skills and be versed in sales forecasting.Must have the ability to analyze opportunities and channel performance to make next step recommendations.Experience applying marketing strategy skills to channels outside on-line environment required.
