IAC Consumer Applications & Portals, a division of IAC Search & Media, operates a suite of portals, destination Web sites and downloadable Web applications to help people get more out of their Internet experience. The brands include Evite.com, Excite (www.Excite.com), MyWay (www.myway.com), Fun Web Products (www.funwebproducts.com) and a private-label portal business. The company is looking for a seasoned professional to manage the public relations initiatives of this division. The position reports to the SVP of Corporate Communications with a dotted line to the CEO of IAC Consumer Applications & Portals.


The responsibilities include:


Development and execution of consumer PR programs designed to drive awareness and usage of the divisions consumer brands. This is the primary area of activity

Development and execution of trade, analyst and business-oriented PR programs designed to generate awareness of the private label portal business and establish credibility for the various brands in those communities as appropriate to the business objectives

Serving as strategic counsel and business partner to the senior management of the IAC Consumer Applications & Portals division

Crisis and reputation management

Acting as a company spokesperson

Management of an external PR agency

Working back with the internal communications manager to drive awareness of the divisions initiatives and products internally

Requirements:



Qualifications:


Strong PR experience with a minimum 10+ years in public relations, including positions as the key driver of strategic PR initiatives. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proven bottom-line results with consumer publications and outlets.

Experience designing and driving consumer brand PR campaigns that build mainstream awareness and influence consumer behavior; Internet experience a plus

Experience successfully developing and executing reputation management programs

Demonstrated ability to represent the company in print, online and broadcast mediums. Experience leveraging the blogosphere and social media as new communications outlets a plus.

Proven ability to advise senior executives on communications strategy aligned to business objectives

Strong project management skills, including experience managing a PR agency and working with remote teams

Proven out of the box creative thinker

Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

A voracious get-it-done attitude as well as the ability to thrive under pressure

A bachelors degree in communications, journalism, PR or related field

Based in Oakland or Los Angeles. Some travel is required
