The Director, Product Development and Management - Pharmacy reports to the Vice President - Product Development, Health Net Pharmaceutical Services, with dotted line accountability to the Vice President - Product Development, Health Net of the Northeast. The position is responsible for developing and managing a competitive portfolio of Pharmacy products / benefit designs for the commercial segment for Health Net of the Northeast.

The Individual will manage the product life cycle through the idea/strategic planning, feasibility and decision stages of the product life cycle, as well as, for the design and development of new products that are identified for implementation. This individual will also support Sales in product customizations for pharmacy related exceptions (fully-insured and administrative services only commercial products) in the HN Northeast region.

Responsibilities:

Developing strategic initiatives to drive pharmacy value proposition to Health Net customers

Develop and manage to established business plan targets for pharmacy, including product implementation milestones, pharmacy trend / revenue pmpm, profitability, and plan design mix standards

In conjunction with the Health Net Product and Market Research unit, assists VP Product Development in the compilation of competitive analyses, market analysis and custom market research to support potential product enhancements; product simplification or retirement initiatives; or market expansions.

Works with appropriate Health Net departments and joint venture partners to assure that new product initiatives meet an internal and external feasibility test.? Analysis includes, but is not limited to, regulatory and compliance feasibility, financial feasibility and market feasibility.

Manage and maintain existing pharmacy plans.? This includes marketing materials, set up in the EOC production system, set up in the BDD and PBM system, appropriate referencing in the product catalog and on the summary of benefits and serving as a point of contact for the sales team on all pharmacy matters

Developing and implementing new pharmacy plans.? Provides analysis and insight on competitor trends.? Works with line of business leaders in each segment to determine pharmacy plan design needs and then coordinates all aspects of implementation, including: filing, pricing, coding, internal communication and training, development of marketing materials and post-implementation follow-up

Works closely with Health Net Pharmaceutical Services (HNPS) to monitor plan performance and identify emerging trends

Subject matter expert resource for communication and training for pharmacy initiatives in the northeast

Act as liaison to HNPS national product development initiatives, and introduces, as appropriate, such products to Northeast region customers.

In conjunction with the Health Net Network Management Department, assists in the management of the relationships with third party vendors for product enhancement.

Maintains familiarity with the [commercial, ASO] regulatory environment to assess the impact of changing regulations of the Health Net product.

Maintains familiarity with Health Net operations, vendors, medical management and information systems, the Northeast competitive market, and North East regulatory environment, to assure that Health Net products remain compliant with such systems



REQUIREMENTS:?

Product development / management experience (5 years)

?

Pharmacy product knowledge (3 to 5 years preferred)

?

Established leadership / management skills, honed through working successfully across complex organizations where influencing skills are requisite to performance (5 years)

Established analytical, financial, and project management skills

?

Proven communication skills are essential.

?

Working knowledge of managed care systems and processes is strongly preferred.

Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams, as well as to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
