Director, Search Engine Marketing

This position is responsible for the management of Search Engine Marketing Services as well determining appropriate search engine optimization strategies. 

 

The Search Engine Marketing Manager (SEM) will have a thorough understanding of search engine optimization, and should be able to create strategies and recommendations. The SEM manager would provide strategic observations and understand how search fits into the bigger marketing campaigns.  Agency experience is a plus, including:

 An understanding of how search campaigns are handled at an agency level.Bachelor?s degree in related field or ten plus years marketing industry experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Search Engine Marketing experience at a senior level or higher.General knowledge of website programming languages and techniques desired.Ability to manage and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to write specifications, marketing copy, and other business documents.Ability to research statistics, trends, industry facts.Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff. Strong written and verbal presentation skills.Strong working knowledge of MS Office products and Internet BrowsersWeb site positioning software Website Traffic analysis reports and programs, specifically Omniture.

 

Essential Functions

 Acts as contact for all SEO ProjectsDevelops or approves SEO strategy for new and existing web sites Review recommendations quarterly as well as major recommendations after 6 months of campaign.  Works with Systems Development to create and validate optimization techniques.  Interfaces with internal and external personnel to understand project requirements.  Performs resource analysis and needs assessment for current and future projects.  Monitor project status to ensure timely and accurate delivery.  Reallocate resources as necessary.Work with product management to develop project schedules and resolve outstanding issues.Establishes departmental project goals and priorities Develops training plan for department.Train personnel on technology and process.Interfaces with management of other departments to identify and amend issues.Analyzes, reviews and alters process and departmental guidelines to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements and technologies.Stays current of emerging optimization techniques and works with VP of Marketing on same.Communicate process problems/inefficiencies to VP of MarketingPerforms other tasks as assigned or required.
