Position Available: Director of Business Development, Active Marketing Group - New York

This proven salesperson will be responsible for calling on Fortune 500 brand managers and VP's to introduce Active Marketing Group's promotional marketing services and online advertising opportunities. The sale is a consultative, strategic sale; marketing knowledge, creativity and superb selling skills are critical to the position, as are boundless enthusiasm and strong self-confidence. Sales Consultants will be responsible for all stages of the sales cycle, from cold calling, prospecting, developing customer rapport, through closing and servicing accounts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business.
5-10+ years of experience selling marketing-related programs.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of integrated marketing programs, including event marketing and online advertising.
Experience in an advertising or promotional agency or in brand management.

Candidates must demonstrate the following:

Ability to quickly understand the Active Consumer market, either through past branding & targeting efforts, or personal interest and participation in sports.
Ability to think on your feet; high energy, positive attitude and a sense of humor
Exceptional prospecting skills and strong closing skills
Ability to craft strategic proposals including creative approaches to program development; we create customized programs, versus selling pre-packaged deals.
Strong analytical and writing skills.
Strong presentation skills an absolute must.
The ability and desire to help develop and mold a fast-growing organization & regional office.
Qualities including: tenacity, work ethic, confidence, polish, sense of urgency and a proven track record of success.

The position includes some travel, as sales prospects are dispersed in various regions across the country.
