Director of Internal Communications - Express

This individual creates and executes all elements of a strategic associate communication plan in line with the brand?s mission, vision, strategies and values. This plan includes regular business communication cadences geared specifically to target associate groups and an ongoing opinion/comprehension measurement system.


Also, position serves as the brand point-person to develop communication to external key audiences, such as suppliers, analysts and reporter meetings/interviews, in partnership with the Center.


The goal is to ensure that all levels of EXP associates understand, articulate and act upon the EXP business goals, values and critical few initiatives. Communication subject matter is mostly focused on internal and external business and organizational change communication.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as counsel to CEO and President to develop a message framework and communication approach that accurately supports the business agenda.

Execute a strategic communications plan to effectively and consistently share EXP brand direction and news, primarily to associates, through multiple approaches:


Quarterly associate briefings and recognition programs


National stores leadership conferences


Monthly business briefings for directors and above


Monthly associate roundtables


Brand intranet site

Act as brand lead on:


Organizational change communication (using enterprise-wide change communication approach)


Major organizational announcements (in partnership with HR)


Responsible for quantitative measurement and feedback to leadership on a regular basis about the improvement of brand/business knowledge with a routine diagnosis of associate needs and issues.



As member of the enterprise-wide internal communication team, play a critical role in the execution of Center-driven communication initiatives in support of the Company?s business agenda. Appropriately engage in and leverage Center partnerships to ensure alignment of messages.













-8 - 10 years of proven corporate communications experience
-Strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to be a communications consultant to senior management in development of communication and enhancement of communication skills.
-Experience in crisis communications, situation assessment and response strategies.
-Ability to understand a brand and drive the external image strategies internally.
-Ability to manage multiple, sometimes competing, projects
-Extensive experience in organization change management and communications execution
-Ability to motivate self independently while participating in a direct and matrixed reporting relationship.
-Ability to manage dual supervisors, and brand opinion leaders and key influencers
-Experience using a variety of internal media and research tools.
-Excellent team orientation and partnering skills.
-Effective interpersonal skills including ability to initiate communications/partnerships with customers, develop relationships, vendor management and seek continuous feedback.


EDUCATION:


Bachelor?s degree in communications, public relations or journalism.

Advanced degree and/or professional accreditation preferred
