Description

The Director of Marketing will play a leadership role in the development and marketing strategy for cutting-edge tools in molecular biology research.  SuperArray provides a fast-paced, team-oriented entrepreneurial atmosphere for the development and promotion of life science research products.

 

Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing will provide strategic vision, quantify opportunities, and develop a plan to address the needs of specific segments within the real-time PCR and protein microarray markets.

In addition, the employee will direct market research projects, develop strategic and tactical marketing plans, develop product specifications, guide products through the development cycle, manage promotional activities for new and existing product lines, launch new products, and perform other sales and marketing-related duties as needed. 

 

Requirements

Education: 

M.S. in Molecular Biology or related field, Ph.D. highly preferred; MBA a plus

 

Experience:

At least 5 years relevant product management in molecular biology or PCR product markets is required; prior management experience is desirable.  Candidate must have direct experience with real-time PCR technology, and demonstrate evidence of success in launching multiple new product lines and product line extensions.  Sales experience is a plus.

 

Skills:

Candidate will have proven skills in strategic planning, and experience in determining key decision drivers within specific market segments.  Candidate must also demonstrate expertise in product promotion strategy, development of tactical support materials, the development and maintenance of relationships with key opinion leaders, and the direction of new product launches.

 

Duties

Identify key influences for proper market segmentation

Quantify market potential, key competitors and barriers to entry

Perform technology evaluations and SWOT analysis

Develop tactical marketing plans

Manage product managers and Marcom budgets

Write and edit technical white papers, marketing literature, advertising copy, press releases, etc.

Develop close relationship with key customers, beta sites, and technological advisors
