Director of Product Management

A growing international service company is looking to add a Director of Product Management to the team.

JOB PURPOSE:

Assure company has the best product offerings in our market, priced competitively but profitably, and consistent with overall company strategy by:

1. Conducting continual research, design, and development of new products and programs for existing markets, as well as for entrance into new markets.

2. Re-evaluating, validating, and improving existing customer programs and products in our core markets.

3. Conducting research, making recommendations, and preparing business plans for new market and industry entrance.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Continual analysis of core markets as well as new markets: researching and identifying market potential, channels of delivery, demographic data, competitors, and price points.
+ Spend time in our core markets in order to understand the industry and changing customer wants and needs.
+ Oversee the development and continuous improvement of our customer solutions.
+ Conduct surveys of current and prior customers.
+ Monitor competitors in the industries we serve to assure our leadership edge over our competition.
+ Provide guidance and structure to instructional design team resources, as well as the product enhancement process.
+ Assure up-to-date and complete product and program content for company website and sales collateral.
+ Assure appropriate internal communications regarding product and program development efforts.
+ Enhance and drive the creative and innovative culture within the company.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Must possess a track record of success in researching, designing, and developing new products and programs.
+ Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
+ Must have experience in completing market research and must enjoy spending time in the market to understand problems, and find innovative solutions for the business challenges faced.
+ Must have marketing knowledge and experience to add depth to our current marketing resources.
+ Must be comfortable and effective in working as a liaison between operations and sales.
+ Must have proven project management skills to guide initiatives to timely and successful implementation.
+ Must possess strong writing and editing skills that will enable him/her to produce content or drafts of product descriptions for website and sales collateral.

POSITION DETAILS:

+ This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer
+ Director of Product Management will have 3 direct reports
+ Company is based in Columbus, Ohio
