The Position: Director of Technical Marketing

ParkerVision?s dynamic and growing organization seeks a talented and aggressive Director of Technical Marketing to drive the technical adoption and acceptance of its technology solutions within the wireless communications industry.  Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Strategy, this position will be based at our Lake Mary, Florida design center, and will be expected to adhere to and promote ParkerVision?s values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team member and supporting the continued growth of the company.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

? Expertise: Demonstrate and continually broaden technical expertise in the field of RF communications. Expertise should include a firm grasp of all current trends and tendencies in RF architectures.

? Programs: Develop and implement persuasive strategies and programs demonstrating the technical capabilities and achievements of RF solutions in support of business development activities. Direct the development of technical papers, demonstration materials and other technical marketing collateral.

? Customers: Serve as technical lead and liaison to key business partners and prospects in support of all business development activities. Actively present and champion technical capabilities and solutions.

? Applications: Provide field and laboratory engineering support as needed in the evaluation and analysis of customer-driven system and application requirements for business prospects and customers.

? Standards Bodies: Serve as technical representative to industry trade organizations and standards bodies. Present and promote our solutions to build awareness and acceptance within the industry. Utilize relationships and reputation to influence industry standards to best serve ParkerVision interests.

? Press: Serve as a key technical contact point for trade publications and industry magazines. Present and promote our solutions to build awareness and acceptance within the industry.

? Benchmarking: Develop and implement technical benchmarking programs and provide technical competitive analysis for use in product, technology, and market strategy and positioning.

? Strategy: Actively participate in strategic and tactical planning activities for technology, product, and market direction. Exhibit strategic leadership through the presentation and recommendation of strategic initiatives supported by assessments of technical feasibility, resource considerations, market validation, and forecasted financial impact.

? Manage: Interview, select, recommend hire, train and assign technical marketing staff as determined.  Provide direction and mentoring and assess the staff effectiveness, both departmentally and individually. Evaluate performance and provide counseling and coaching to employees.

 

Required Skills:

? BSEE required.  MSEE or equivalent experience a plus.

? 10+ plus years successful experience in RFIC circuit design, RF system design, or similar with 50% in supervision.

? Strong expertise with a broad range of the concepts, practices, and procedures in the field of wireless communications and RF ICs.

? Ability to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly changing environment. 

? Strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability work proactively across all major internal functional areas (core and field engineering, operations, sales, and marketing) and with external constituencies (customers, technology partners, standards committees, etc.).

? The ability to work on and manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently, while maximizing time efficiently to achieve business goals and objectives.

? Domestic and international travel required, including overnight stays, at times with short notice.

? Self-directed, self-motivated; able to work in cross-functional team environment and as a sole contributor.
