Editor/Senior Writer

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is actively seeking an experienced professional with a background in both publications and marketing.

DUTIES:
The editor/senior writer serves as a liaison between the marketing department and IAPMO staff and membership, gathering information from which to write copy. Working closely with the marketing and visual communications manager/co-editor, the editor/senior writer is responsible for organization of the content of an award-winning bi-monthly, 100+ page magazine, including research, interviewing, writing, soliciting and editing outsourced feature articles and proofreading (content is guided by CMS). Working with the marketing director, the position also requires the development and writing of press releases and Internet newsletters, as well as copy for brochures, ads, and direct mail pieces; speeches and scripts for special events; and web content.

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate possesses a B.S. in English, journalism or communications, at least 5 yrs. experience in publishing, marketing or a related field, and working knowledge of Office Suite. Knowledge of QuarkXpress a plus. The candidate must be highly organized and have the ability to maintain composure and accuracy under the pressure of strict deadlines.
