Executive Communications Strategist - SER8382

I. Job Summary:     The executive communications strategist is responsible for all
communications for the chief executive officer, the president/COO
and other members of the Executive Management Team. The
director will draft and finalize speeches, presentations, testimony,
talking points and Power Point slides for both internal and external
audiences. The executive communication strategist will develop and
manage a library of speeches, presentations, testimony and talking
points that will be available for others to access for reference or if they
need to make similar presentations. The executive communication
strategist will also prepare Board communications, letters, memos,
briefing papers and other written items for the CEO and COO. The
executive communication strategist will proactively identify speaking
opportunities for executives during which the Blue Cross mission
and priorities may be presented to stakeholders and key opinion
leader audiences.


II. Accountabilities:


1. Develop, implement and evaluate a company-wide executive
communication plan.
2. Work with executives to understand their interests, priorities,
preferences and speaking styles.
3. Search Blue Cross for potential themes, topics, data and
information to support spoken and written communication.
4. Prepare speeches, presentations, testimony, talking points,
memos, letters and other materials for the CEO, president/COO
and other members of the Executive Management Team.
5. Develop and manage a library of speeches, presentations,
testimony and talking points that are available for others to access.
6. Plan, manage and evaluate three Management Meetings each year.
7. Identify and schedule speaking opportunities for executives.
8. Identify other opportunities for executives to build positive visibility
for executives with key stakeholders.


III. Job Requirements:


?Bachelor's degree required, preferable in journalism, public relations,
business, english or communications. Master's degree preferred.
?Minimum 10 years of experience working in communications or public
relations in a corporation or other large, complex organization.
?Demonstrated success writing speeches for executives.
?Ability to build and sustain the confidence of key executives.
?Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
?Track record of identifying opportunities to communicate effectively and
persuasively with influential organizations and key opinion leaders.
?Ability to identify and seize opportunities and advance business objectives.
