Graphic Designer / Production Artist

Job Description:

 

To execute art, from concept through production, that meets and exceeds customer's expectations.

 

To work in partnership with customers, vendors, production, customer service, and sales.

 

This position requires a person who has working knowledge to prepare "Print Ready Production Art".  Experience in building artwork and revising customer supplied files for consumer goods packaging is preferred.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Create and revise electronic artwork using the standard suite of software packages, as well as font and image management on the Macintosh OS.

 

Update and revise existing digital artwork as instructed.

 

Communicate graphic information to customers and vendors as needed.

 

Communicate with customers' designers as a graphic expert as needed.

 

Understand die lines and templates to assure packaging artwork is accurate and compatible with pre-press operations.

 

Understanding of all requirements for printed materials to ensure print ability.

 

Review work with clients and internal associates.

 

Maintain electronic print files, proof files, and ftp site.

 

Ensure artwork is prepared according to printing specifications.

 

Ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

This position will have a great deal of exposure with customers.

 

Skills Required:

 

Must be proficient with Macintosh computers and OS.

 

Associates Degree in Design/Graphic Arts or related field; or comparable years of experience.

 

Ability to use full Adobe suite including:  Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

 

Solid working knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook).

 

Ability to work Monday through Friday and overtime as required.

 

Solid organizational and project management skills required.

 

Ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions at a moments notice.
