FUNCTIONS:

Maintains a buyer contact relationship with select chains through constant support and management of their magazine program.  Responsible for the management of Retail Account Executives handling national chain accounts, Hastings, Virgin, Tower Records, B&N College Bookstores, Follett College Bookstores and more.  Provides direction to employees, ensuring that activities are consistent with the goals of the division and the organization as a whole.  Must be knowledgeable of both SIFD and each chains? goals, objectives, and priorities.  This is accomplished through responsive and effective communication, resolution of service problems, and proactive analysis and strategic planning to optimize sales opportunities and improve efficiencies. 

? Responsible for handling all new chain business once passed from Sales department until account can be handled by a Retail Account Executive

? Will assist in all aspects of new chain business including but not limited to accounting needs, EDI and invoicing needs, and operational needs such as return documents and account set-up parameters based on profitability model

? Maintain strong relationships with chain store buyers by assisting in the development and maintenance of their magazine program.

? Understand SIFD?s role in all key business processes relating to each chain

? Effective at trouble shooting and problem solving as it pertains to each chain account

? Policy and procedural questions and/or concerns

? Perform, analyze, and assist all Account Executives with order regulations on regular basis to maintain sales efficiency goals

? Review tieline reports weekly

? Send all solicitations to buyers after approved by Sales department

? Follow up with magazine buyer on all new title solicits

? Responsible for all chain distribution, implement all approved orders

? Communicate all relevant organizational and operational changes and issues to each chain

? Ensure chain initiatives are accurately communicated to the publishing community via Publisher Services

? Facilitates all programming requirements on behalf of chains

? Update promotion database with all relevant information for approved titles if applicable

? Implement all requests from Director of Retail

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelors degree or higher in Business required

? At least 2 years management or industry experience

? Prefer experience in wholesale distribution and retail

?  Strong computer skills are required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Internet, and Access.

? Strong organizational skills to manage workload to maximize productivity and efficiency

? Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with clients and other departments

? Initiative to identify sales opportunities and generate analysis and sales materials for clients

? Extensive analysis skills

? Attention to detail and accuracy

? Developed interpersonal and leadership skills

? Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently

? Ability to delegate appropriately

? Ability to inspire and motivate

? Extensive knowledge of periodical fulfillment services
