Letter-shop Supervisor

SUMMARY: Supervises, coordinates, and assigns daily activities of employees engaged in letter-shop production and hand assembly of products for shipment.  Responsible for the overall direction and coordination of Quality Assurance.  Enforces company policies and procedures.  Other responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees planning, assigning work, conducting appraisal/performance reviews and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

? Supervises all areas of letter-shop and direct mail production operation, including recruiting, personnel management, production scheduling, quality control, equipment operation and maintenance, mail staging and verification scheduling and coordination of mail delivery with USPS.

? Coordinates the flow of mail through the production floor and ensures that client specifications are adhered to, deadlines are met, and production work falls within budgetary guidelines and that postal regulations are followed.

? Works with IT and Client Services departments to ensure all data and imaging requirements are communicated effectively. Verifies data is correct for job and confirms mail sort is correct.

? Oversees quality control processed for jobs moving through the production floor.

? Participates in and ensures that decisions regarding personnel, training, safety and related aspects of management are implemented and adhered to.

? Keeps controls on production related inventories and expenses including production throughput, labor/overtime, supplies and other operational expenses.

? Studies production schedules and estimates hour requirements for completion of job/project.

? Interprets company policies to personnel and enforces safety regulations.

? Recommends measures to improve production methods and quality of product.

? Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production department or work crew.

? Analyzes and resolves production problems and/or assists personnel in solving problems.

? Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

? Maintains time and production records and status reports.

REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must:  Be able to perform the duties listed above.At minimum, have a 2 or 4 year college degree.Fluent with the MS Office suite of software.Have strong analytical and problem solving skills.Have a good strong knowledge of USPS regulations.Have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
