The Manager, Internal Communications provides planning, writing and editing services supporting projects and priorities of Applera Internal Communications. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, the Manager- IC works with clients in Corporate, HR Services, Applera?s business groups and other internal entities to engage employees, support the businesses and articulate the Applera HR agenda. The Manager-IC will create and execute communications plans for various projects and initiatives, including creation of supporting editorial material in print, e-mail and on the web. Responsibilities include daily content management and writing/editing associated with internal websites, including editorial planning, creation of articles, approval and posting. The individual will serve as liaison with corporate groups in establishing new department-specific intranet sites and encouraging adherence to intranet style guidelines. Works with content managers to ensure quality and consistency of material posted internally. Also communicates and manages consistent, companywide standards for broadcast e-mail communications. Partners with others on HR and Community Relations projects as needed.

Qualifications include seven to ten years experience in corporate and/or internal communications (corporate HR communications preferred, but not essential), strong writing-editing abilities with organizational and project management skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and matrixed environments. Minimum bachelors degree in English, Journalism or related field.
