Manager-Life Product Marketing

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Group Life Product Marketing Manager is responsible for managing marketing plans, which deliver on the Group Life-s business plan goals. Supporting marketing efforts to increase Group Life awareness and consideration among the Intermediary, Employer and Employee audiences. Contributing to the development of the Group Life value proposition and supporting positioning, which is in alignment with MetLife-s overall Institutional and Corporate brand positioning. Working collaboratively with other marketing managers (e.g., in Product Marketing, Marketing Research), maintaining effective partnerships, and sharing learnings and best practices. Working with key business partners to help support growing sales, revenue, and earnings. Partnering across the organization with other departments, such as Public Relations, Legal, and eBusiness. With the rest of the Product Marketing team, serve as single point of contact for Group Life for all marketing capabilities and services (e.g., marketing research, marketing strategy, communication programs).
Principal Responsibilities:
Support and manage execution of Group Life strategies and detailed marketing plans to meet business goals
Contribute to the development of product value propositions and positioning platforms
Manage development of Group Life-specific marketing content in cross-product programs
Support creation of Group Life-specific sales materials (e.g. sales tools and Finalist Presentations) and internal sales and service communications.
Develop a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape including industry trends, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to help identify business opportunities and refine product positioning and target audiences.
Support new product development initiatives and launches
Partner with other Product Marketing groups to increase focus on portfolio management and marketing
Monitor and manage budget
Coach other Product Marketing associates in helping to develop their skill sets and assume increased responsibilities
Required Competencies:
Work effectively in cross-functional teams
Build and manage relationships throughout the Company
Manage multi-dimensional marketing communications projects
Analyze marketing research, help identify MetLife gaps and opportunities and develop initiatives to address them
Establish strong partnerships with both internal and external business partners and alliances
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience in employee benefits marketing strongly preferred
Understanding of insurance industry and Series 6 license preferred (or be willing to obtain)
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
