Manager, New Business Development
OnSpeX is a leading provider of consumer product testing services for products sold in the U.S. and Canada. We are currently seeking a Manager, New Business Development to work in our consumer product evaluation group located in Cleveland, Ohio.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
To develop new accounts as well expand existing Accounts.
To assist the Director, New Business Development, in identifying and developing new accounts for OnSpeX.
To achieve sales goals for the successful growth of services and programs.
Develop, maintain and oversee productive client relationships through professional services by managing all aspects of the services provided to clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client acquisition.
Responsible for driving the sales process through research, planning and sales execution. As a rule, 80% of time should be spent on the development of new leads.
Prepare service proposals, contracts and capability statements.
Develop Sales and Marketing presentations, tools and material to promote the OnSpeX?s services and value added propositions.
Assist with the development of new programs.
Select, organize and attend industry trade events.
Assist with the preparation of sales plans, forecast, monthly reports and client visit summaries.
Ensure follow ups on action items.
Negotiate client service rates, including term and conditions.
Work with counterparts from other Business Lines and Program Managers on global client programs and carry out promotional sales functions.
Promote OnSpeX?s services and products to North American and International clients through face-to-face meeting, focused presentations and promotional events.
Collect market intelligence on competitive analysis, customer feedback, trends and opportunities.
Become fully trained and familiar with the company?s services, primarily: inspection, audit, and testing for hardlines consumer products.
Develop and maintain an understanding of industry issues, trends, and events. Extensive and frequent domestic and international travel is required. Over 80% travel in the USA /Canada and limited travel to Asia.
Technical Expertise/Support:
Liaison, as necessary, with trade/regulatory/industry/professional bodies to provide technical expertise in areas of global compliance, and industry standards and to further promote OnSpeX?s leadership.
Participate and relay information obtained from attendance at regulatory/industry and professional meetings to co-workers.
Provide technical expertise to clients in areas of global compliance, industry standards; through technical opinions, interpretations and recommendations.
Adhere to the requirements of the OnSpeX Quality System, and assist with implementation and maintenance of the department quality system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree in a technical discipline related to consumer products testing.
Over 10+ years work experience with at least 3+ years marketing consumer products testing and other manufacturing quality assurance services with exposure to North American clients.
Exposure to sales and marketing management, customer service functions in the service industry and manufacturing or other supply chain related.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Understand what the "end result the retailer desires, prevent recalls, prevent returns, protect corporate image, and understand risk management.
Able to talk the retailers? language and able to "react" to retailers demands in minutes/hours not days or weeks.
Ability to effectively communicate and foster productive relationships with prospects and clients.
Able to present both technical and non-technical presentations to retail and related vendor customers, and present seminars at trade events.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills are a must.
Excellent written and verbal skills (English) are mandatory and any bilingual skills would be an advantage.
Proficient at Word/Excel/Presentation and able to learn proprietary client portal program.
Must be an experienced traveller.
A team player able to cooperate with Operations, and corporate Sales and Client Services teams.
