MBA is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Manager, Public Affairs to be responsible for developing strategy and messages for industry issues such as the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), mortgage fraud against lenders, predatory lending and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac oversight. Primary responsibilities include working closely with the Vice President, Public Affairs, marketing and government affairs staff, as well as those in the research department to develop and implement strategic communications plans, require support for the Annual Convention, National Policy Conference and others as needed, Prepare and edit press release, media advisories, letters, or speeches, and manage MBA advocacy related media inquiries.

 

The ideal candidate would have an undergraduate degree in English or a related field required in addition to a minimum of 8 to 10 years of public relations agency experience, or similar communications position within a trade association.  Must have strong writing and editing skills.  Working knowledge of print and broadcast media.  Superb communications, interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary.  Must have the ability to manage multiple projects for success.  Candidate should be detail oriented.
