Manager of Communications, Biotechnology Company

For Bayer HealthCare, Pharmaceutical?s Hematology/Cardiology business unit in Berkeley, the incumbent will manage a variety of internal and external communications initiatives in support of business and site objectives, products, and employee relations. The incumbent will report to the Head of Public Policy & Communications for Hematology/Cardiology and will work primarily in a team setting, collaborating with others in the PP&C area and other departments to plan and implement communications projects. Drive the development of internal communications strategy in support of overall business and site objectives o Develop and implement a variety of innovative communications initiatives designed to help achieve business objectives. Network with other divisional communications colleagues to share and apply internal communications best practices from other Bayer sites ? Oversees the development of content, writing, and production of internal communications such as intranet articles, newsletters, bulletin board postings and on-line messages Collaborates with Berkeley site customers to develop communications strategies and tactical plans addressing specific departmental needs Meets regularly with functional area staff to monitor progress against plan, understand objectives and processes, and help these areas meet their goals. Coordinates with divisional network of Bayer communications colleagues to promote consistent themes and messages, share best practices and develop an effective system of distribution of information. Provides concept development, research, desktop publishing, writing and editing services. Direct and manage outside agencies and vendors Implements measures to monitor effectiveness of communications programs. Manages or collaborates in management of: special events, site celebrations, meetings, VIP visits and state of the business presentations. The incumbent demonstrates safe work practices, takes part in safety meetings as required, and advises relevant personnel (e.g. supervisor, etc.) of any non-conforming conditions. Support external communications activities surrounding the Kogenate brand and other Hematology/Cardiology pipeline compounds, as needed.
