Managing Supervisor/Vice President, Sports Business

This is an opportunity to play a key role on high-profile national sports business accounts and to further develop the agency?s growing speciality in Sports Business.

Responsibilties:Create, implement, and plan communications strategies and programs for a diverse complement of sports-related clients Develop strong client relationships, ensure high levels of client satisfaction, and provide outstanding client service and results Mentor and develop junior staff and lead inter-office, interdisciplinary project teams Actively seek new business opportunities by attracting new clients and growing existing accounts Manage account teams to ensure that client needs are met on time and on budget
Qualifications:Bachelor?s degree in journalism, communication, English, or a related area7-10 years of experience working in a sports agency, business firm, or sports league/franchise Proven understanding of the operations and needs of, and current contacts and relationships with national sports media, leagues, franchises, and governing bodies. Ability to think strategically and develop, sell, and implement programs that address clients? business objectives Well-developed writing skills, including ability to develop and edit high-quality media materials, speeches, plans, and executive correspondence Excellent verbal communications skills and experience in public speaking Ability to prepare comprehensive media materials (news alerts, media releases, b-roll packages, VNRs, fact sheets, news kits, and full range of online communications) Background in marketing communications Extensive knowledge of working with and developing partnerships with major sporting events High level of understanding the broadcast industry, including broadcast rights, advertising, ratings, etc. Ability to work with both existing clients and pursue new business Creative, energetic team player who is results-focused and willing to go the extra mile for clients Effective team and project leader, able to motivate people, manage timelines, and work against budgets Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once
