Marketing Assistant / Production Coordinator

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a MARKETING ASSISTANT / PRODUCTION COORDINATOR in our JERICHO, (Long Island) NY office.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 - 3+ years working in a corporate business environment, in a Marketing / Creative services capacity.
JOB OVERVIEW:
As a team member of the Corporate Marketing department, the Marketing Assistant / Production Coordinator will be responsible for administrative and project-based duties related to the sales, marketing and training on our travel industry insurance products and internal communications. Manage, monitor and move projects forward from conception to final delivery. Graphic design, page layout, web design, image creation and image manipulation skills are required to successfully contribute toward the production and completion of projects. Daily administrative functions will also be necessary to support the department.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Exceptionally detail oriented and able to assume proofreading responsibilities for documents with important legal ramifications.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Multi-tasks well, manages time effectively, with strong organizational and design skills.
? Able to assist in developing themes, marketing concepts and design creative visual elements (e.g., layout, use of color, etc.) in various media (e.g., print, slides, web pages, etc.) to effectively convey a message. Must be able to accept feedback and constructive criticism and adapt design work accordingly.
? Must be able to solve problems through creative thinking. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work on a team, collaborate with team members and with the external counterparts of our clients' marketing departments, as well as work independently.
? Responsible for trafficking marketing materials. Manage and prioritize projects to be printed internally; oversee, monitor and ensure timely completion of jobs outsourced to external vendors.
? Proofread documents and ensure that necessary changes are reflected in current version of document.
? Responsible for maintenance of project documentation including forms, calendar and other documents related to the corporate marketing project life cycle. Tracking department production via excel spreadsheet or other means. May be responsible for order entry of projects received, current status and completion date, maintaining advertising history and billing.
? Assist in design, production and final preparation of marketing pieces for print, web and multimedia. Utilize creative skills to help develop concepts and graphic design skills to assist in creating and manipulating design elements and entire layouts using Windows (IBM-PC) programs such as Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint.
? Assistance with client/vendor correspondence that may include initial letter drafting, formatting, proofreading, and distribution.
? Perform Internet-based research activities, including image purchasing, software comparisons and equipment/technology updates.
? Other duties and special projects as assigned
SOFTWARE SKILLS:
Well-versed in operating within a networked Windows (IBM - PC) environment and using advanced features of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher. Able to learn and use web development tools such as Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Proficient and/or able to quickly learn specialized applications such as: Quark XPress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or comparable page layout and image creation applications.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates Degree or Certificate in Marketing, Graphic Design or similar accreditation.
