Marketing Associate Internship

SummaryThe Thomson Learning Career and Professional Group is currently seeking an intern for our marketing department. This internship would run mid-August through December/January.

The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Healthcare Professional Business Unit Marketing team members in the development and implementation of Marketing projects: customer database updates, campaign creation, metrics analysis and preparation, event planning and coordination, etc.Description1. Develop relationship with relevant internal team members to be able to efficiently gather information needed for Marketing campaigns and projects.

2. Update and maintain customer database and upload database to eMail system monthly

3. Perform metrics and analyze results on marketing campaigns using various systems, such as Informz, Omniture, Adinterax, etc.

4. Help with National Sales Meeting preparation, User Convention planning, and developing sales tools.

5. Fulfill requests from clients as needed (such as sending out banners and other supplies).

6. Order supplies as needed from various vendors.

7. Be comfortable with new technologies and be able to problem solve and troubleshoot independently.

8. Take on other duties as necessary to ensure achievement of team goals
Qualifications1. Current undergrad in the field of business, marketing, design, or related discipline, or the equivalent theoretical depth required; post-secondary education, (e.g. will graduate with bachelors of arts or science) in marketing or business administration desired.

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Word?, PowerPoint?, Excel? and Outlook?.

3. Competence in writing marketing copy.

4. Strong organizational skills required.

5. Clear, predictable communications skills (both written and verbal) required.

6. Design skills, such as Adobe Photoshop and Quark, preferred but not required.
