Marketing Communications Editor

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS EDITOR

Thunderbird, the #1 school in global management, seeks an individual with global curiosity to create and edit compelling and persuasive marketing communications. The Marketing Communications Editor is a key position that reports to the Assistant VP, Marketing.

 

Responsibilities: Conceptualizes, writes, edits and manages content aligned with strategy for print and electronic marketing communications to support brand identity and product/service objectives. Collaborates with internal clients to create/edit business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing communications including: brochures, the Thunderbird Web site, email campaigns, Internet landing pages, sales collateral, ads, advertorials, ranking submissions, school guidebooks and Thunderbird Magazine. Writes promotional and informative articles targeted to external and internal audiences and based on school-related information and interviews with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, board members and alumni. Creates and maintains marketing content style guide and standards. Monitors and assesses customer, market and competitive information to enhance marketing communications. Manages creation and production of e-newsletters targeted to internal and external constituents. May be required to attend and photograph events outside of regular business hours in order to cover news stories for various communication vehicles.

 

Core Skills: More than 5 years expertise in writing and editing marketing communications. Knowledge of AP style. Must be an innovative and collaborative self-starter with an outstanding track record of internal client service and teamwork.

 

Additional Skills: Knowledge of higher education market desired, multi-cultural awareness, attention to detail, time management, and working knowledge of Microsoft? Office products. Familiarity with PhotoShop and ability to work a camera a plus. Experience with lead generation initiatives preferred.

 

Education: BA/BS in Journalism, Communications or related field
